Transporting 2 Super-Heavy Press Machines from Korea: The “Direct Loading” Method Saving 25% in Costs

Interlink successfully managed the transportation of 02 super-heavy press machines imported from South Korea, weighing 48 tons and 59 tons per unit respectively. The shipment traveled from a Korean port to a factory located in My Phuoc 3 Industrial Park, Vietnam. The project demanded a logistics solution that guaranteed absolute safety while optimizing both cost and timeline.
PROJECT CHALLENGES
- Super-Heavy Weight: Units weighing between 48 and 59 tons each required specialized loading and unloading techniques.
- High Handling Costs: Utilizing traditional processes would have significantly inflated port storage fees and intermediary handling expenses.
- Timeline Pressure: Cargo had to be delivered strictly on schedule to the factory to prevent any disruption to the production line.
SOLUTION
Interlink implemented the “Direct Loading” (Direct Discharge) method:
- Direct Handling: Receiving cargo directly from the vessel onto transport vehicles, bypassing intermediate stages at the port yard.
- Process Optimization: Minimizing the risk of damage and reducing time spent on lifting and handling operations.
- End-to-End Service: Providing a comprehensive package including customs clearance, specialized heavy-lift transportation, and door-to-door delivery.
